NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team took on the Ole Miss
Rebels at the Bridgestone Arena, Thursday in the SEC Tournament.

The game started slowly for both teams until roughly six minutes in when the teams tied 6-6, and
to everyone’s surprise head coach Avery Johnson chose to start Galin Smith as well as Riley
Norris over his usual Dazon Ingram, Tevin Mack or John Petty. This was Norris’ first start of the
season.

Over the next four minutes, the Rebels were able to drop 10 consecutive points on the Tide, and
the score heading into halftime was 38-24 with the Tide trailing behind.

Going into the second half, Kira Lewis Jr. and Tevin Mack were able to get up a combined 17
points. The two teams traded the lead back and forth, but John Petty was able to get a three-point
lead for the Tide, and Dazon Ingram was able to sink two free throws and secure the 62-57 win
over the Rebels.

Tevin Mack led the Tide with 21 points with Devontae Shuler leading the Rebels with 14, Donta
Hall led the Tide with 15 rebounds with Shuler trailing behind again with only seven, and Riley
Norris led the Tide with five assists with Terence Davis leading the Rebels with four.
