TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Jaala Torrence started things off for the Tide on defense, going three up three down in the top of the 1st inning.

In the bottom of the 1st the Crimson Tide heated up the bats immediately with Aubrey Barnhart and Ally Shipman hitting back-to-back base hits to centerfield, setting up Megan Bloodworth for a three-run home run.

The Tide kept things rolling in the bottom of the 2nd with Kali Heivilin hitting a solo shot over the center field wall to extend the lead 4-0.

Shipman’s base hit scored Ashley Prange followed by Bloodworth’s sac fly to score Shipman. Making it a six to nothing lead. Alabama kept North Alabama off the board up until the 5th inning when the Tide put in Lexi Kilfoyl to wrap up the game. The final score of the first game was 6-1.

Kilfoyl started things off in the second game against Alcorn State. Alabama got on the board first in the second game at the bottom of the 2nd with Savannah Woodard bringing in Jordan Stephens off an RBI single. Bama added another run at the bottom of the 3rd on a bases loaded walked making the score 2-0.

Bama added another run in the bottom of the 5th off Heivilin RBI single, followed by a wild pitch to score Jordan Stephens making it 4-0 at the end of the inning. Alabama switched pitchers at the top of the beginning of the 6th, putting in Alex Salter. Kilfoyl finished with nine strikeouts and Salter finished with three for the 4-0 shutout win.

The Alabama Crimson Tide on a five-game win streak heading to Texas A&M this weekend. The first game will take play on Friday April 22nd at 6 P.M. CT, second game Saturday 6 P.M. CT and the final game of the series will take place on Sunday at 12 P.M. CT.

“This late in the year when you get to play everybody and everybody gets at bats it awesome, because I’m going to need a lot of these people down the stretch. If I don’t play them now, I’ll never know what they can do; chances are if thats the first time playing them in May or June they aren’t going to do well,” Said Coach Patrick Murphy.
