Despite putting up a season-high 14 runs, the focus for the Crimson Tide was all in on senior Faith Hensley, who was being celebrated for her senior day.

“The love and support from my parents, coaches, teammates, support staff and everyone involved in this program has been incredible, this has been the best year of my life,” Hensley said. “It does not matter what role I play on this team, the energy that I have received from everyone one of a kind and the energy is contagious through everybody.”

Hensley had herself quite the game as well, drilling a home run with three RBI’s and three runs scored. Her efforts assisting in a 14-4 Alabama win against Indiana State University.

Head coach Patrick Murphy praised Faith’s efforts in the win.

“A lot of times there’s a lot of pressure to succeed with your whole family watching, and a lot of people make a big deal out of it and we hope that she wouldn’t succumb to that pressure and she didn’t –[I’m] happy for her and happy for her family,” Murphy said.

The second game was more of the same for the Crimson Tide. Bailey Dowling and Montana Fouts were sensational in the Alabama win. They led the Crimson Tide to an 11-0 shutout highlighted by five RBI’s for Dowling and nine strikeouts with no earned runs for Fouts.

“We made a lot of good adjustments offensively from the first game, we were getting it done, and this game was all about our hits, in the first inning we got through six batters which is not easy to do and we were able to string some runs together,” Dowling said.

The Crimson Tide improve to 11-2 on the season and are back in action in Tuscaloosa on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m C.T. at Rhoads Stadium.
