TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Lexi Kilfoyl started off the game throwing nothing but strikes, leading with three up three down in the first two inning. The game was all Alabama’s defense and Kilfoyl pitching, with eight strikeouts heading into the top of the 6th Bama kept the bats silent allowing no hits.
Alabama lit things up in the bottom of the 5th with Ally Shipman hitting a two-run RBI single into center field bringing in Kat Grill and Dallis Goodnight. Bailey Dowling followed it up with an RBI single into shallow center making it a three nothing game. Kaylee kept the inning going with two outs with an RBI single that went straight back to the pitcher extending the lead 4-0.
The Crimson Tide weren’t done yet in the bottom of the 5th, Jenna Johnson blasted a two-run RBI single to right field to extend the lead to 6-0 before the end of the inning.
Ally Shipman ended the game on a three-run home run to walk off the game in the bottom of the 6th. Shipman ending the game secured the complete game for Kilfoyl, ending the game 9-0 with ten strikeouts while allowing no hits. Kilfoyl is the 41st no hitter in Alabama history.
“I give all the credit to her (Lexi Kilfoyl) because it was supposed to be a group effort tonight, when we didn’t score when we had a lot of people on base you worry that you’re going to blow it,” said Coach Patrick Murphy.
