EATONTON, Ga. — Another slow start for Alabama proved to be to much to overcome, as Alabama finished in eighth place this week at the Linger Longer Invitational.

Although they made the fifth most birdies in the field, 16 doubles-or-worse throughout the week would be the Tide’s downfall.

Alabama would finish 33 shots off the tournament champion No. 10 Georgia Bulldogs.

Thomas Ponder led the way for the Tide, finishing T9 (-5) with rounds of 74-68-69 in his second top-10 finish of the season.

Canon Claycomb had another solid week for Alabama, finishing T25 for the fifth time in a row with consistent rounds of 73-72-73.

In his first start of the Spring season, Jack Goldasich finished in a career-best T40 (+5).

Junior Dillon West and sophomore JP Cave finished in T45 (+6) and 67th (+13) respectively for the Tide.

Playing as an individual, Charlie Nikitas got off to a strong start with a pair of one-under 71s. He would card a 79 in the final round to finish 40th (+5).

Also competing as an individual, Jones Free finished 48th (+7).

Alabama will head to Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. to close out their regular season at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. The tournament begins on April 2nd.
