TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide came into Sunday’s game after a tough 3-1 loss against conference foe Ole Miss. The Tide coming into the game had a 4-5 record and were looking to get back to .500 on the season. Alabama hosted Utah Valley who came into the game with a 5-3 record and coming off a loss to Oklahoma.

The Crimson Tide came out red hot, attacking Valley early and putting the pressure on. It would not be long until Ashlynn Serepca would add to a solid season goal total, finding the back of the net with a header to take the 1-0 lead in the 18th minute of play.

With a 1-0 lead and a phenomenal goal, Serepca and the Tide were not done. In the 25th minute the Tide were threatening again. With another cross sent into the box by Riley Tanner, Serepca would slide to find the back of the net once again. Serepca’s second and the Tide’s second of the game giving them a 2-0 lead. That would be Serepca’s fifth goal on the season. The Crimson Tide headed into the locker room up two goals.

The Crimson Tide wasted no time in the second half. In the first minute and a half of play the Tide would attack the goal once again. Who else but Serepca, centers the ball to Macy Clem who floats the ball over the keeper to extend the Crimson Tide’s lead to 3-0. Clem increases her goal total to two on the season.

The Crimson Tide would cruise the rest of the game to finish the game with the 3-0 lead. The win over Valley puts the Crimson Tide back at .500.

Coach Wes Hart was pleased with the win stating “It’s a good win against a NCAA Tournament team.” Hart went on to say that there have been other opportunities where the Tide have put more shots on goal and have had more scoring opportunities, but the Tide were able to capitalize on what they had today.

The Crimson Tide will be back on Thursday where they will take on the Missouri Tigers at 7 PM CST.
