TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide faced off against the sixth ranked TCU Horned Frogs. The Tide came into the game with a 3-3 record. Their last game coming off a loss against Memphis. TCU came into the game with a 5-0 record and were looking to continue their win streak against Alabama. 

The Crimson Tide came out hot, pressing the Horned Frogs early. Alabama would keep the pressure on however, it was the Horned Frogs who would strike first. TCU’s Camryn Lancaster scored on a cross by Heinrich Reaches on the back post. The Horn Frog’s would take the lead into halftime. 

In the second half the Crimson Tide continued to bring the pressure. Coming out like they did in the first half; they were the aggressors. Felicia Knox would lead that charge and would score to tie the game for the Crimson Tide. Knox’s goal came off the assist by Henderson to make the game 1-1. As the second half continued it was an even contest both teams scratching for another goal. However, the game could not be decided in regulation and the game went to overtime. 

TCU came out hot in overtime pressuring the Crimson Tide from the kickoff. In just the second minute of overtime play the Horn Frogs would threaten the Crimson Tide defense and Messiah Bright would head the ball into the net for the golden goal win. The assist went to Grace Collins who sent the cross in for the score and the game. 

For the Crimson Tide another hard fought but heartbreaking loss this year that brings their record to 3-4. Once again Alabama had more shots and shots on target than their opponents but were not able to capitalize. “That’s soccer,” said Coach Wes Hart. 

The Crimson Tide return to the pitch on Sunday, September 12th to play UAB. That game is at home in Tuscaloosa and kickoff is at 7PM CST.
