After an impressive series win over #10 Kentucky last weekend, the Tide went 2 and 2 this past week with a loss to Jacksonville State and taking 2 out of 3 against Missouri. After losing their previous 3 SEC series the Tide have bounced back nicely to win their last two. Another big week for the Tide as they play 4 more games this week. One against UAB and then 3 games against Texas A&M in College Station.

What really stuck out for the Tide in the series against Missouri was their pitching. Missouri only scored 1 run in each of 3 games this weekend.  Sam Finnerty only gave up one run in 7 innings in the game on Friday. He did surrender 10 hits, but Missouri only could produce one run.

On Saturday, the first game of the day-night doubleheader, the Tide lost 1-0 in a pitcher’s duel. Michael Plassmeyer and Jake Walters dueled in game 2 of the series. Plassmeyer through a complete game shutout for the Tigers while Walters also threw great giving up 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched, but credited for the loss.

In the second game of the doubleheader the Tide bounced back to win 5-1. This game was pitched by committee as 4 different Alabama pitchers helped contribute to limit Missouri to 1 run, while Cobie Vance helped spark the offense going 4-5 with a run scored and an rbi.

Bama hopes their pitching stays hot against the Aggies and the Tide can build on their 20-13 record (5-7 in the SEC) up to this point.
