On a cool, October night in Foster Auditorium the Alabama Crimson Tide’s Volleyball team came into their match against the Alabama State Hornets 14-5 (2-4). The Tide made quick due of the Hornets by winning in straight sets.
This Tide team is led by senior Quincy Gary and sophomore Doris Carter. After getting off to a slow start in the first set, the Tide rolled back to win 25-14. Although, the Hornets did not make it easy by coming back strong in the second set, the Tide prevailed by winning a nail-biter 26-24. Lastly, the Tide dominated the third set 25-9 to finish off the Hornets.
The top performers from the match were Junior, Ginger Perinar who finished with 12 kills and 13 points, and sophomore Doris Carter with 8 kills and 12.5 points.
Next, the Tide will travel to Gainesville to face the #11 ranked Florida Gators in a prime-time SEC matchup on October 14th at 12:30 P.M. CT.
