TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Saturday’s game against Georgia was a full house at Rhodes Stadium with 3,940 fans.
Montana Fouts started things off for the Tide against Georgia. Things were silent for most of the game, until Georgia scored at the top of the 4th, bringing in two runs. Another run was brought in by the Bulldogs to end the top of the 4th 3-0.
Ally Shipman came up big for the Tide in the bottom of the 4th with a solo shot over the center wall. Coach Patrick Murphy was thrown out in the bottom of the 5th on a horrible check swing call with the bases loaded. Two-run home run for Georgia at the top of the 6th to extend their lead 5-1.
Megan Bloodworth had a major hit in the bottom of the 6th straight to center field for a two-run RBI making the score 5-3 Georgia. Alabama changed pitchers at the top of the 7th, putting Lexi Kilfoyl. Alabama leaves a runner stranded on 2nd at the end of the 7th, to lose to Georgia 5-3.
“If I could take back that home-run for a single with bases loaded, I would much rather have that.” said Shipman.
Alabama is back in action tomorrow at 3 P.M. at Rhodes Stadium against Georgia.
