TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Montana Fouts started things off for the Tide, leading off the bottom of the first with three up, three down. At the top of the 2nd freshman Jenna Lord kicked things off for bama with a two-run double making it 2-0 heading into the 3rd.

Fouts kept things rolling for the team sitting the Florida Gators down in a hurry. Kaylee Tow kept the balling rolling offensively with a hit into shallow center to score two runs. Lord had her second double of the day, sending the ball to the opposite side of the field, that allowed two to score 6-0 at the top of the 3rd.

Dallis Goodnight continued the inning with two outs and lasered an RBI single into center field 7-0 headed into the bottom of the 3rd. Bamas defense kept things silent for the Gators in the bottom of the 3rd and they returned the favor to the Crimson Tide at the top of the 4th. At the bottom of the 4th the bats finally started to heat up for Florida with an RBI single, RBI double and an infield single making the score 7-3 headed into the 5th.

The bats were silent for both teams in the 5th inning. In the top of the 6th Goodnight drew a bases walk to extend the Alabama lead 8-3. Fouts kept Florida from adding anymore runs on the board to secure the 8-3 win over Florida. Fouts recorded 11 strikeouts on the road in Gainesville, Fla.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be back in action tomorrow Sunday, April 10 – 3 p.m. CT.
