TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Lexi Kilfoyl heated things up on the mound for the Tide in the second game of the series against Florida. This game was more of a defensive game for both teams as no one scored until the top of the 6th inning. Bailey Dowling got the Tide on the board with an RBI double up the middle to take the late lead.
Former Alabama player Skylar Wallace returned the favor to the Tide with a solo home run to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th. Bats were quiet for both teams in the 7th and led to extra innings. Dowling came up again for the Tide in the top of the 9th with leading off the inning with a solo home run to take the lead.
The Tide earned the win in the bottom of the 9th with Montana Fouts coming in for the save and securing the series win for Alabama.
This was the Tides first game with extra innings this season. The 8.0 innings pitched is a career high for Lexi Kilfoyl.
The Tide look to earn the sweep tomorrow against Florida at 6 P.M. CT on Monday.
