The Crimson Tide take care of the Clemson Tigers and get a 1-0 victory.

CLEMSON, S.C – The Crimson Tide were selected to take part in the 2021 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament where they would go to Clemson, SC. to take on the Clemson Tigers. The Crimson Tide had yet to win a tournament game in the program’s history and were looking to notch their first against the Tigers. Clemson came into the game with a 12-6-1 record while the Tide came in a 10-9-1.

The Crimson Tide were determined to get their first tournament win and came out of the gates strong. In the 4th minute of play Riley Tanner would take the ball on the attack down the sideline and send a cross into the box. Allie Berk was there to receive the cross and found the back of the net for the score. Berk would get her third goal of the season and give the Crimson Tide the lead early.

After the goal the Tide stayed aggressive on the defensive end, in the second half the Tigers would get 14 shots, but none could find the back of the net. Despite Clemson’s efforts the Crimson Tide’s defense could not be broken. Alabama notched 4 saves as the clock hit zeros and the Crimson Tide would defeat the Tigers 1-0 to get their first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

The Crimson Tide move ahead in the bracket and on to Charlottesville, VA. where they will meet the BYU Cougars at 3 PM CST. on Thursday, November 18th. With a win over BYU the Crimson Tide could find themselves in the regional semifinals.
