The Alabama Crimson Tide was not able to convert game 2 of the series into a win against the College of Charleston, falling 1-0 on a Saturday afternoon contest. The Tide falls to 9-2 on the season, with the latest game being their first shutout of the season, unable to bring in any runs on the day.

Dylan Smith (1-0) had his second start of the season, and was unable to see the win column once again. However, Smith had an excellent showing on the mound, pitching seven innings in the contest and striking out 10 batters which is another career high for the starter. Smith allowed one run on four hits, but was unable to receive help from the offense in the late innings.

The College of Charleston Cougars connected for a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning with the only run of the game. Alabama left 13 runners on base, including the best chance for the Tide in the seventh inning, with the bases loaded, but 2 straight outs put away the hope for a comeback.

The Crimson Tide will wrap up things with the final game of the Charleston series on Sunday afternoon, and will prepare for a homestand week facing South Alabama on Tuesday, as well as Jacksonville State on Wednesday, and finishing with a weekend series against Stetson.
