Regular season SEC champs cap off the regular season beating Georgia.
No. 8/5 Alabama scored 59 points on the second half to capture the win on Saturday over the
Bulldogs. Bama trailed the Bulldogs 36-30 headed into half time but outscored the Bulldogs 15-7
in the final minutes to take the momentum headed into the locker room. Alabama came out of the
locker room scoring nine straight points to take the lead 39-36 for their lead since the beginning
of the game.
Georgia didn’t go down without a fight, cutting it close with a single possession,
82-79 with 1:13 remaining. Guard Keon Ellis drained an open three to spark the Tides 7-0 run to
end the game, winning 89-79. Guard Jahvon Quinerly led the Tide with 18 points, four rebounds
and four assists in 24 minutes.
The Crimson Tide head into the SEC Tournament as the No.1 seed. The tournament will be
played in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Bama will face the winner of Kentucky and
Mississippi State on Friday, March 12.
