1. Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, DB
Status: Solid Verbal
Also Considering: Florida, Florida State, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety has given a very heavy verbal to Alabama. His best friend and teammate, Dee Hart, has already enrolled, and it looks like they will come as a package from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando. Clinton-Dix will most likely be a special teams monster at the gunner position next year. He will learn Nick Saban’s defense and should be a starting defensive back by his sophomore year. He will be a solid replacement in 2012 to either Mark Barron at strong safety or cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.
2. Xzavier Dickson, DE
Status: Solid Verbal
Also Considering: Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Florida State
Dickson is the No. 4 defensive end in the ESPNU 150 and was very high on Alabama when he gave his verbal. Mark Richt and Georgia made a hard push, but the Georgia native has said that he is committed to the Crimson Tide. His biggest strength is against the run and shows very good football smarts in being able to read plays before they happen. Dickson could possibly compete for some playing time as a true freshman and has the strength and quickness to eventually be a dominant defensive end.
