Week 9 was one of the heavier NFL bye weeks of the season, but the games that did occur were littered with former Crimson Tide performances. It seemed game after game an Alabama player stepped up to make a play that altered the outcome.
Wideouts Julio Jones and Amari Cooper have both proven to be constant keys to their teams’ success and did it once again in Week 9. In a win for the Atlanta Falcons, Jones flashed his speed and golden hands in a day that he finished with eight catches for 111 yards with a touchdown and made some history.
Julio Jones has 465 career catches, the most in NFL history in a player’s first 75 games.

Then, the aforementioned Cooper balled out and had another six-catch day along with 56 yards receiving in an Oakland Raider victory.
After a tumultuous Week 8, running back Mark Ingram had himself quite the afternoon in Santa Clara, California, against the 49ers. The New Orleans Saint rushed for a whopping 158 yards on just 15 carries, including a 75 burst through the 49er defense that had some people talking.

To finish off the offensive side for the former Crimson Tide members, running back Kenyan Drake returned a game-winning kick for a touchdown for the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday to extend the team’s win streak to three games. Miami fans saw the burst of speed and escapability that many Alabama fans were so used to seeing, and Drake once again vaulted his team on top.

It is widely known that Alabama is a prominent defensive player producer, and the products showed up in a big way this weekend. Starting in the secondary, New York Giants safety Landon Collins had perhaps the best game of his young career. Collins flew from sideline to sideline and collected a team-high 12 tackles, a sack and his third interception on the year.
In another strong performance, Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix tallied two interceptions and returned them for a total of two yards.

Finally to finish off the week, Los Angeles safety Mark Barron led the Rams with nine tackles and added a sack with two tackles for losses.
