The Southeastern conference named quarterback Jalen Hurts the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after his performance against Mississippi State in the Crimson Tide’s 51-3 victory.
Hurts finished 28-of-37 for a career-high 347 passing yards. He also threw a career-high four touchdowns in only three quarters of work. The freshman’s big day wasn’t limited to the air. He also rushed a team-high 11 times for a game-high 100 yards and the game’s only rushing touchdown.
He is now the only Alabama quarterback to throw for 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in the same game, and his five touchdowns tied the school-record for most in a single game.
