Alabama redshirt senior and middle blocker Krystal Rivers was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for her play in four matches last week. Rivers had 89 kills for an average of 5.24 per set in the four matches. In the match against No. 16 Florida State, Rivers finished one shy of her career high in kills with 29.

The honor is the first for Rivers and the Crimson Tide this season, but it’s the fourth time in her career she has received it. All of her previous three were in her 2014 Third-Team All-American season.

Rivers has led Alabama in kills in every single match this season, and her total of 154 kills on the year is the best in the SEC. She leads second place Evie Grace Singleton of Mississippi State by 45. She also has 1,597 kills in her career, which ranks fourth in program history. She is just 17 kills shy of third place.
