It’s now been three years since Troy beat Alabama twice to eliminate the Crimson Tide from the Tallahassee NCAA baseball regional. Since then Troy has failed to reach the NCAA tournament, and Alabama only made it back the following year.

This is a new season though and both programs have only lost once over the first two opening weeks of college baseball. Alabama is 6-1, while Troy is 7-1 as the two teams will meet again for a midweek matchup Tuesday at Troy at 6:00 p.m.

Alabama has outscored its opponents so far this season 40-16, but all of the games so far have been at home. Coach Mitch Gaspard hopes that the team can respond on the road.

The trip to Troy will be the first of five games on the road. Alabama will then travel to Cary, North Carolina on Friday for a round-robin tournament over the weekend against Notre Dame, Niagara, N.C. State and Brown.
