The University of Alabama football team placed a league-leading 10 players on the Coaches all-SEC teams, the league office announced Tuesday.

Seven players made first-team All-SEC, and Alabama led the league for the eighth straight season.

The honorees from Alabama were:

First-team offense

RB Derrick Henry – the Heisman Trophy finalist rushed for 1,986 yards this season, breaking Herschel Walker’s single-season record. Also a first-team USAToday All-American C Ryan Kelly – Has been a a stalwart for the Crimson Tide since he succeeded Barrett Jones at the position. Many of Henry’s soon-to-be 2,000 yards came by rushing through the A-gaps behind Kelly. Also a first-team USAToday All-AmericanLT Cam Robinson – has been a standout since his freshman season for Alabama. Though edge rushers had more success on the left side this year than last, Robinson is as effective a run blocker as any.

First-team Defense:

DL Jonathan Allen – Part of Alabama’s elite defensive front, Allen has recorded 10 sacks this seasonDL A’Shawn Robinson – 42 tackles, blocks on the goal-line in offense, and THAT field goal block. A USAToday second-team All-American
LB Reggie Ragland – Led Alabama’s defense both emotionally and statistically, with 90 tackles this season. He’ll be an NFL draft pick after the season. Also a first-team USAToday All-AmericanS Eddie Jackson – since switching to safety from corner, Jackson as improved by leaps and bounds, taking better angles and closing the center of the field to Alabama’s air-oriented opponents.

 Second team offense/ST

OL Dominick Jackson,WR Calvin RidleyK Adam Griffith

The SEC individual award winners will be released on Wednesday and the SEC All-Freshman Team will be announced on Thursday.
