A pair of Alabama defensive backs were honored by the Football Writers Association of America on Tuesday following Alabama’s 41-23 victory over then No. 9 Texas A&M.
Safety Eddie Jackson and cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick were named the AutoNation FWAA National Defensive Players of the Week. Each player picked off two passes during the game.
Fitzpatrick returned both of his interceptions for touchdowns and a total of 88 return yards. Jackson only returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown after he ran it back 93 yards, but his total 119 return yards is a new school record.
