Alabama Stomps Gators in the Swamp

GAINSEVILLE| What looked like a possible stumbling block in Alabama’s season turned out to be one more stepping stone for the Crimson Tide, as the Tide beat Florida 38-10 to bring its record to 5-0 (2-0). Tide cruises to 27-11 win over Penn State

STATE COLLEGE| What started out as rough waters became easy sailing for the Alabama Crimson Tide, as the team defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-11, moving Alabama to 2-0 on the season. Penn State drove 54 yards on its opening drive, controlling the clock for 7:34 minutes before kicking a field goal to go up 3-0 on the Tide. McCarron and Sims to battle for starting QB job

Sophomore quarterback AJ McCarron and redshirt freshmen Phillip Sims are the top two quarterbacks for the Crimson Tide heading in to the 2011 spring practices.  McCarron has the edge on Sims with an extra year of experience. Tide wins big in first-time matchup

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Georgia State 63-7 in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Alabama’s first Thursday night game since 2001, improving its record to 9-2. This was the first time these two teams had ever met.
