MARCH 16: No.38 Alabama fell to No. 15 Mississippi State 4-0 at home

Doubles: Sophomore Zhe Zhou and freshman Riccardo Roberto beat the No. 59 doubles pair in the country in Foshey/Broska, 6-2, but the tide couldn’t hold on to the momentum. Mississippi state responded with the final two victories in doubles play to win the doubles point.

Singles: No. 92 Mazen Osama was defeated by No. 4 Nuno Borges, Alexey Nesterov lost to Florina Broska and Thiabault Cancel was defeated by No. 23 Giovanni Oradini, giving the Bulldogs 3 points and sealing the victory.

MARCH 18: No. 38 Alabama drops Auburn in a 4-0 shutout at home

The Tide took an early lead when No. 46 ranked doubles pair of Thiabault Cancel and Alexey Nesterov defeated Sarrio and Chavarria, 6-3. The Tide snagged the doubles point after the No.31 duo of Osama and Ortiz dropped Tiger duo Nguyen and De Vincentis, 6-4.

In singles play, No. 92 Mazen Osama, Zhe Zhou and Ricardo Roberto combined for the Tide’s remaining 3 points. 

The victory over Auburn gave Alabama men’s tennis its first SEC victory and makes them 15-5 overall.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

MARCH 16: Alabama dropped by No.13 Auburn Tigers 4-0 on the road

Auburn took the doubles point with victories over the Selim/Cortina-Pou and Pelletier/Hinton pairs. The Daniell/Moulin duo defeated Tiger duo of Selim and Cortina-Pou.

In Singles, Auburn won the first three matches to assure their win. Smith Hinton fell to #80 Jaeda Daniel, Ann Selim fell to Andie Dikosavljevic and Kylie Moulin defeated Georgia Axon.

The team is now 13-8 overall.
