No. 1 Alabama won its second-straight game in Bryant-Denny Stadium with a 41-23 win over Colorado State. The Crimson Tide got off to a fast start, scoring on its first two drives of the game. Alabama now improves to 3-0 on the season and will face its first SEC opponent in Vanderbilt next week.

Moment of the game

Jalen Hurts found Robert Foster, who turned on the jets and blazed past a herd of Colorado State defenders en route to a 52-yard touchdown with 1:00 left in the second quarter.

Notes:

Jalen Hurts got the Crimson Tide offense started fast for the second week in a row. Alabama covered 75-yards in just over two minutes.
Hurts dominated the first quarter for the second straight week. He totaled 171 yards (124 passing and 47 rushing). He finished with 351 total yards (248 passing 103 rushing). He also had two passing touchdowns and rushed one in as well.
After a strong first quarter, Alabama fell flat in the second. Colorado State controlled the ball for most of the second quarter and cut the Crimson Tide’s lead to just seven. Then, Alabama took control again with a 52-yard touchdown pass to Robert Foster with less than two minutes left in the second.
Safety Ronnie Harrison made a momentum-changing play early in the third quarter. The Rams drove all the to Alabama’s 25 yard line before Harrison intercepted Nick Stevens to give Alabama the ball back.
Alabama added onto its lead with a 14 play, 88-yard drive that lasted 6:52. The drive was capped off by a 9-yard run by Bo Scarbrough.
Miller Forristall came up limping after a 12-yard reception. He went straight to the medical tent and then to the locker room. He did not return.
Hootie Jones got his first career interception with 5:48 left in the third. He took it back 65-yards to Colorado State’s 11 yard line.
Colorado State’s first two second half drives that made it to Alabama’s territory were intercepted. …read more
