True freshman Ashley Knight was named the SEC Freshman of the Week by the Southeastern conference on Tuesday. She is the second Alabama player to claim the award this year after Jordan Lewis received the award on Nov. 17.

Knight almost averaged a double-double over the week, averaging 9.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in just 21 minutes per contest. She also averaged a little over three blocks a game.

Her best performance came against McKneese State. She scored 16 points and collected 12 rebounds in her second double-double of the season. She also blocked six shots, which was third all-time by an Alabama player in one game, bringing her total to 25 on the season, which is the most by any player in the SEC so far.

Knight and the rest of the Crimson Tide will face Florida A&M on Dec. 28 in Coleman Coliseum at 7 p.m.
