The Alabama women’s rowing team finished off the successful weekend with four top 10 finishes on Sunday at the Head of the Hooch regatta. The Crimson Tide was well represented in the top 20 as all competitors placed in the top 20.

“This is the strongest finish we’ve had at the Head of the Hooch,” coach Larry Davis said. “It’s the first time we’ve come away with three medals and the silver is the highest finish we had at the event. It was a weekend with a lot of firsts. We did a really good job as a team and it was a great way to finish the fall.”

Alabama came out of the weekend victorious as they acquired three silver medals in three separate events including the Open 8+, Novice 8+ and Championship 2x.

“We need to make sure they continue to work over the next few months to make sure to maintain our competitive level,” Davis said. “It was great to have good conditions in Chattanooga this weekend and really challenge our team and see success to conclude our fall season.”

The rowing team will return to action at their next event on Feb. 25 to kick off the spring season against Eastern Michigan.
